When does class start and end?
The first LIVE class will be on January 5th starting at 7 PM PST.
Subsequent LIVE classes will be on the following Tuesdays @ 7 PM PST.
January 19th, February 2nd & 16th, March 2nd & 16th. Six total LIVE classes.
What is the time commitment for this course?
You will have a one hour commitment every other Tuesday evening. Plus you will need approximately 2-5 additional hours every two weeks to watch the tying videos and practice the materials. Additionally, you will be submitting your work via video and online assessment quizzes.
Do I need a partner?
This course is designed for partners. The ties and metholdogies taught will focus on increasing connection and intimacy between two people. It is not recommended to take this course un-partnered, but it is possible to take the course without your partner joining the LIVE classes.
Will we be tying during the LIVE classes?
No. There will not be any tying during the LIVE classes. These will be lecture and Q&A time. Your partner does not have to be with you in the same location to participate in the LIVE class.
Will the LIVE classes be recorded?
Yes, the LIVE portion of the class will be recorded and placed into the course for all students to have access.
How long will I have access to the videos?
You have access to the course videos for as long as the website is up and running.
What will the homework be like?
It will vary from lesson to lesson. There will be requirements for you to demonstrate understanding of the materials presented through video and written forms.
What equipment do I need for the class?
You will need a minimum of three 30' and two 15' hanks for rope and safety shears (hey look, that is part of the bonus pack!) More rope is great. We recommend that you use either jute or hemp rope for this course. Nylon rope is acceptable, however some ties may require modification to hold effectively. If you plan on tying with nylon please inform me ahead of the class.
Additionally, you will need to have a webcam, and space to work on the ties for each lesson. You will be submitting your work via video and in written form through online quizzes. So, please plan accordingly.
What if I have questions or do not understand something?
The private Slack workspace channel for this co-hort will be the place to submit any questions and to get the answers that you seek. Sharing your questions with the group will help everyone learn and for us to gain valuable feedback about the materials.
Any pre-qualifications to take this course?
There are no pre-qualifications to take this course. Due to this course being online and over a series of weeks, it is not required to have taken the Safety & Introduction course, as is required for in-person events.
